Sprinkles and Splatters art journal spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Sprinkles and Splatters".

It's always nice to be messy in an art journal, so for this challenge I made a spread once again. I started with the Jane Davenport Rub Ons and Tape Strips (thanks Marzena) that I had left from the previous challenge and over it I applied Opal Magic in Green-Gold, Blue-Gold and Rose-Gold paint. From there I played around with a 49 and Market stamp set called Captured Adventures.

The Dot Fade stencil I used with Texture Paste that I made black by mixing it with Black Soot Distress Paint. When it was dry I started using sprays. I started with Distress Spray Stain, but this did not want to dry properly on the Opal Magic. So I tried Dylusions Spray, and that gave me amazing drips. But when I used Dylusions Spray on the other side, the same thing happened as with the Distress Spray Stains. It appears to be the combination of Distress Spray Stains and Dylusions Spray. But beware it doesn't really dry properly on this kind of slik surface. This combination of Opal Magic paints with sprays is not one I'll do again.

This is my favorite series each Monday :-) I really love to see your videos and all the techniques you use. Your tape use is just fantastic, I will never learn it, for sure but will always admire you doing that, lol. Love the blue and green (of course) splashes of color and the black stenciled dots. The alphas are brillant and so huge! Hugs, Marzena
