It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Stencil Fun".
These are weird times right now, and it's good to be able to do and think about something else, like playing with stencils! I started with a sheet of Heavystock and used Distress Ink Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso together with Distress Spray Stain Peacock Feather and Distress Oxide Spray Peeled Paint. Because I don't really like the spray look, mostly because I don't like the results I'm getting, I applied the sprays together with the Distress Inks on my Craft mat. And I was very surprised by the colors I got with this technique, they were more brighter then I would have thought.
After a few layers of inks and everything was dry, it was time for stencils. The first stencil was Dot Fade, I used it with Distress Paint Broken China. Then I used Grime with the Emboss It Dabber and Gold Embossing Powder. I love how that stuff smells! And for the final stencil, I used School House with Texture Paste that I colored black with Distress Paint Black Soot. But I thought that was too dark and heavy and so I put Sage Embossing Powder over it. The Texture Paste was already drying a bit so it didn't stick as well as when I had applied it directly.
Then I cut out two circles with the Mini Circle Shaker Window die. And fastened the Circle Shaker Pouches with tape at the back. On vellum I stamped 2 bugss from the Entomology stamp set and colored them with Distress Markers Broken China and Peacock Feathers.
