Birthday Time card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "XXX".

It's been a very long time since I had used the Gel Plate and I had inspiration to use it. I find it very difficult to make color combinations with the Gel Plate, not all paint is equally opaque, and sometimes a last layer will ruin the project. So I stuck with only black paint, and with black I have lots of contrast. I used Black Soot Distress Paint along with the Clockwork stencil. What a cool effect the Gel Plate gives!

 

I finally got my hands onToner Ink and this was the first time that I used it and I'm really impressed with the result. First I watched the Heidi Swapp insta TV with Tim Holtz to see how it works with a brayer, because that is a much easier and more efficient way to use the Toner Ink then using it with a stamping pad that dries out. After the Foil, I applied some texture with the Deco Arch stencil and Texture Paste and colored it with Infusions In The Navy, Green Man and Olive Tree.

Heart on Wheels card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "We're on a Roll".

It has been a while since I made an industrial card and I thought it was nice to do that with blue-green colors, a little patina-like and then with a strong contrast of black. I started with Distress Ink Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers and Hickory Smoke, and have used Nuvo Shimmer Powders Storm Cloud also.

 

For texture I used Texture Paste and wanted to make it dark gray and used Nuvo Shimmer Powders Storm Cloud for that, but thought it didn't really match and ended up adding Distress Paint Black Soot to make it black. I used the Texture Paste with the Digits stencil. While the Texture Paste wasn't completely dry, but almost, I put Silver Embossing Powder over it, so that it only stuck in a few places.

 

I applied the Faceted Heart with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and the edges first with Distress Ink Ground Espresso, and later with Distress Crayon Black Soot. I die cut the Gears out of Silver Foil Cardstock and sanded them with a sanding block and then applied Distress Crayon Black Soot on top.
