It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Not a Card".
Finnabair recently released new molds, and Wings and Bones is my favorite of the bunch. It isn't Halloween yet, but this mold isn't just for Halloween projects. I started to coat the molds with a layer of White Gesso. After it was dry I adhered the large elements in place and later added the smaller elements plus the art stones and I provided the wings with Grit-Paste for extra texture.
After everything was dry and set enough, it was time to apply color. Found it hard to choose the colors, because I didn't wanted ending up a Halloween project. I started with Distress Paint Antique Linen for the skulls and the bones. Because I wanted to give it the color of bone. I made the wings gray with Distress Paint Black Soot and Impasto Paint Snow White. For the rest I worked with Liquid Acrylics Tiger Orange, Carmine and Burnt Sienna to give it a rusty effect. With Metallique Wax Bronze Age and Firebird I added some highlights here and there.
