Textured Halloween card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Touchy Feely".

I didn't live up to the intention I had to made last week to use the Moon Masks on every Halloween card. I was inspired for this card by the Death's-Head Hawk Moth, such a terrifying movie. I didn't follow the color palette of the moth. I'm really into the Halloween green colors

First I started with the background with all sorts of greens and black: Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn, Black Soot, Distress Ink Rustic Wilderness, Distress Oxide Spray Peeled Paint, and Nuvo Sparkle Spray Apple Spritzer. I stamped randomly with Undertaker and Messy stamps. In the corners I used the Spider Web die. For the focal point I used one of the big moth looking butterflies from the Specimen stamp set. I also stamped this on a transparent sheet. To give it texture I used Wings and Bones Mold set to add the skull.

Halloween Stitched card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Stitch it".

I'm totally in the Halloween spirit still. Love the Moon Masks, it's really cool, and I'm planning to use them in all my Halloween cards. Let's see if I can uphold that.
First I started adding texture with the Bricks stencil. I added extra texture with a spatula, in the video you can see how I do that. Gives such a realistic brick effect.

After the Texture Paste was dry, I applied color with Distress Spray Stain Rusty Hinge, also a selfmade mix with Perfect Pearls and Distress Oxide Spray Black Soot. To intensify the orange I used Infusions Rusty Car.
It was a real struggle to sew the edges of this card. Even broke a needle! My sewing machine can handle making bags is fine, but a card, nope, he doesn't like that at all... I even tried my old sewing machine, and he didn't like it either...
