If you have Adobe Illustrator, you can customize it. It contains 4 trees made with 4 different fonts.

The materials I used for this card:

Grungy Monday 28 & SSS&S some tickets

Hi everyone,

It's Monday again and that means Grungy Monday and Simon Says Stamp and Show. For Grungy Monday we have to use metal tape and alcohol inks for the technique Tim Holtz used in the Ranger Ink Great Pumpkin Challenge . Unfortunately I have neither, so I worked with alternatives, aluminum foil and paint dabber. Hopefully, that's not a problem. And if so, I certainly had much fun making this tag. It's so grungy looking with the old metal look, and I'm very pleased with the result.
The theme for Simon Says Stamp and Show is show some tickets. And luckily I had Tim Holtz tickets in my stash and the other day I recieved more tickets that I could use as well.

Here is the result:

The materials I used:

  • Distress Ink: vintage photo, walnut stain, paint peeled
  • Embossing powder: copper, black soot
  • Grunge paper die cut gears
  • Spinner
  • Gear
  • Clock
  • Hinge clip
  • Mesh
  • Paint dabber: Pitch Black
  • Alumimium foil
  • Tickets: Tim Holtz
  • Stamps: Tim Holtz
  • Flower: Prima Marketing

Another SSS&S: some women only!

Hi everyone,
Last Thursday, Lein and me were crafting at my place and when she asked me why I hadn't used my logo for the challenge Simon Says Stamp and Show: some women only!? Well I could not answer that, except that I just hadn't thought of it. That's a bit strange because in my craftroom is full with it. So I decided to join in again. This time I chose a black (very dark gray) / white theme. And I used my new edge die and  embossing folder from Tim Holtz. Behind the holes of the die cut, I put bits of white paper, so the border will stand out better against the background.

 Here is the result:

 The materials

  •  Distress Ink: ice spruce
  •  Archival Ink: Jet Black
  •  Die: Tim Holtz
  •  Embossing folder: Tim Holtz
  •  Stamp: Tim Holtz
  •  Ribbon
  •  Perfect pearls missing: Perfect Pearl
  •  Logo: screen-printed on fabric with acrylic paint and textile medium

Simon Says Stamp and Show: Some women only

Hi everyone,

It's time for the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge. This time the challenge is to use a woman or women in your project, but only women. I have no stamps of women, so I had to think of something else. Last time I had found a great site with vintage photographs and I have found a nice picture of a lovely girl for my project. After having the background removed in Fireworks, I did my print-and-cut method again. I'm not good at node editing. By node editing you can edit the cutting of the image you want to cut. With pixel trace it isn't always that clean. You really have to know what you're doing or learn to, but I don't know if I ever gonna learn it. You have to practice a lot and have a lot of patience. And I'm not known for my patience ;). For the wings I used Distress embossing powder, black soot. This is the first time I used  Distress embossing powder. I've seen the video on Tim's website about it, and I knew that crystals were coming off afterwards and that you had to shake the powder well. But when I heated with it with my heat gun half of the powder was blown away, literally... Then once it's dry you rub the remaining crystals off with your fingers, but there was almost nothing left. Ultimately I think it's just a very cool look for this card.

Okay here is the result:

The materials I used:
  • Distress Ink: shabby shutters, antique linens, tumbled glass, vintage photo
  • Distress stains: spun sugar
  • archival inks: sepia, coffee
  • Distress Embossing Powder: black soot
  • Paper distresser
  • Perfect pearls: heiloom gold
  • Stamps: prima marketing
  • Grunge paper
  • Paint dabber: gold
  • Stickles: gold
  • Flowers
  • Rhinestones

  • Sandpaper
  • Sewing machine

Holiday card boot camp day 4

Hi everyone,

This card I've made for holiday card bootcamp day 4. It's a Christmas newsletter card. I had never heard of that. I think it's a great idea. Only, I don't have an idea of what I should put in the newsletter. Everyone that I'm sending a Christmas card, knows exactly what happened in my life last year. For that reason, how much I like the idea, I'm not gonna send newsletter christmas cards.

The result:

 Materials I used:
  • Embossing Folder: swirls Tim Holtz
  • Die: heart wings Tim Holtz
  • Perfect pearls mists: perfect pearl
  • Paint dabber: silver
  • ColorBox: Frost White
  • Embossing Powder: wow silver bells
  • Bias tape

GM 27: Grungy holiday card boot camp

Hi everyone,

Today, it's time for Grungy Monday, and this time I can combine the Holiday Card Bootcamp day 6 with it. I've already made the cards for day 4 and 5, I only need to post them on my blog. I'm going to do that tomorrow:). But now back to the project today. For Grungy Monday we had to use the techniques that Tim Holtz did for one of the 12 tags of Christmas. This time it was day 6 of 2007. Click here for the link.
For Holiday Card Bootcamp we had given a few sketches. I liked the round card with the flowers a lot. And immediately knew what I wanted to make. I think my inspiration is back: D!!

Here is the result:

I have chosen not to use a  sentiment on the front of the card. It's gonna be on the inside of the card. The backside piece is not finished yet, because I wanted to post this tonight. The flower is made from loose petals of grunge paper and glued together with a hot glue gun. And it wasn't a disaster, I didn't had a fight with it! I love how the flower turned out!

The materials:

  • Distress Ink: iced spruce, tumbled glass, Pumice stone, vintage photo, festive berries
  • Perfect pearl mists: perfect pearl
  • Mask: Seasonal -> snowman
  • Stamps: Tim Holtz
  • Ribbon
  • Flower
  • Rhinestone
  • Grunge paper
  • Hot glue gun

Thanks a lot for stopping by!

Cooking up fun, and I used 2 stamps (the cook, and the sentiment) I have laying around for ever. These were the first stamps I bought since I started cardmaking.

Inspirational Card sketches:

For the first time I have really made an attempt to color a stamp in with distress ink and luckily I had bought paper for that yesterday. I'm pleased with the result. I don't know much about light and shadows and all, but I definitely want to learn more about it. Maybe by a workshop or something.
The result:

The materials:
  • Distress Ink: spiced marmalade, tumbled glass, rusty hinge, dried marigold, Wallnut stain, frayed burlap, Mustard Seed, by barn, tattered rose
  • Embossing folder
  • sandpaper

Freshly made pumpkin sketch

Hi everyone,

Luckily I have found a bit of inspiration so I could make the next card :), that I used for the following challenges:
Our creative corner challenge:
Use pumpkins or the color of pumpkins.

Freshly made sketches:

The pumpkins are of the set creat-a-card from lettering delights, my favorite site where I get my images, svg's, fonts, etc. And these svg's are now FREE to download! I made in Make the Cut! (That cutting software) a background for the pumpkin. The mesh I colored with distress stains and stamped on the black cardstock with white frosting ink. The effect has something of chalk on a blackboard, don't you think?

The result:

The materials:
  • pumpkin: lettering delights
  • Distress stain: vintage photo
  • Distress Ink: spiced marmalade, Gathered twigs, ripe persimmon
  • colorbox: Frost White
  • mesh ribbon
  • Stamp: Studio G

Grungy monday 26: one of Tim′s christmas tags (day 7, 2009)

Hi there!

It's becoming almost standard that I'm behind on the challenges. This is mainly because I don't have much inspiration lately. Hopefully I'll find it back quickly.
Fortunately I found it back for this challenge. Grungy Monday 26, and this challenge is based on the techniques Tim Holtz used on the  12 Tags of Christmas 2009, day 7. Here is the link to it.

Last week I bought the large manila tags, and I wanted to use one for this challenge. I had no masking sheet, so I used a transparency sheet that is in the packaging of clear stamps and stamped on it. And to make sure that it stayed in place, I sprayed adhesive spray on the back.

Here is the final result:

The materials I used:
  • Distress Ink: Vintage Photo, tea dye, antique linen, frayed burlap
  • StazOn: Jet Black
  • Mists perfect pearls: heirloom gold
  • Stamps: Tim Holtz
  • Gears and spinners
  • Little clock
