It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Tape it Up". We're also showcasing Jane Davenport products! So if you have any, please use them, if you don't that's okay too.
This is the first time that I worked with Jane Davenport products and I had a lot of fun with them (Thanks, Marzena!). The Tape Strips are very nice, especially because they are really made from paper so they work well with ink. And the Rub Ons are fabulous, especially because the ladies have a white background, so they can be added on every color surface. Anyway, on with my card. I started to add the Tape Strips randomly and after that I applied a layer of Collage Medium mixed with water to seal them in.
For some texture I applied Crackle Paste with the Bubbles stencil. When it was dry I used Infusions to give it some color. First a base layer with Collage Medium mixed with water and the Infusios. And then only the Infusions with water. It's currently very hot here in the Netherlands, and it was a challenge to do all that drying with the heat tool. But the show must go on ...;).
On Vellum paper I used one of the Rub On ladies, and cut it out with the Stitched Ovals. But the vellum got damaged while I tried to get it out of the die. Don't know why that is, and I only have that with the Stitched Ovals. The paper really sticks there in very tight and it's always difficult to get it out alright. I thought baking paper would help, so I used the smaller oval die, but it still was damaged when it came out of the die, not as much though. I wanted a frame around it, so that would solve my problem. The smaller oval isn't in the same proportion so that doesn't work to make a frame. So I used the same size and traced the inside of the die and cut it out with a Fiskars Craft Knife.

Beautiful!
You really did make great use of the tapes in the background, they look lovely the way they peek through the gorgeous framed lady. The colours in the background really do enhance the image of the lady.
I feel so honoured to be working alongside such a hugely talented team!! Hugs, Anne xx
Gorgeous card Sandra :-) the girl is stunning and I love the background and stitching, the whole design is so pretty! LOVE it :-)
A little tip to help get papers out of the dies is to rub a tumble dryer sheet over the die and the paper, it usually works for me, its worth a try ;-)
