Paint Marble Background card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Make Your Own Background".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Paper Rose. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

The Tim Holtz Q&A Facebook lives are great for dusting off techniques and products that you haven't done or used in a long time. Last Saturday it was about Distress Paint, and the Marble  Paint technique is so fun and I hadn't done it for ages. I used Distress Paint Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo, and for some shimmer I added Metallique Paint Rustic Brown and Stormy Ocean to the mix. Unfortunately I don't have any dabbers and not the flip tops yet, so getting it on the craftsheet was bit of a challenge.

I ended up applying  two coats, and when the paint was dry, I was using Distress Ink Ground Espresso along the edges to darken them. The other times I used the Minc with foil, I noticed that there was also foil sticking in places was no Distress Resist Spray, but it adhered around the Distress Ink drips here and there. As part of "What if" I run the card through the Minc with Rose Gold Foil without adding anything that should stick to the foil. And to my surprise, the foil stuck to lots of places on the card, much more than I expected, actually a bit too much.
With the Paper Rose Hub Stencil, and the Emboss It Dabber, I applied some texture with Distress Embossing Glaze Walnut Stain, but the foil still dominated.
With Washi Tape I managed to remove / reduce the foil in some places.
