Shooting for the Stars card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Shoot for the Stars".

When I think of stars at the end of June early July, I think of the American 4th of July celebration. And I was inspired by those colors and so I used red and blue for my card. I started collaging the background and used Collage Paper Typeset, Washi Tape, old book paper and scraps of pattern paper. The adhesive I used for collaging is Soft Matte Gel. I put it in a smaller jar so that I can use it more easily.

After the collaging was finished, I applied a layer of White Gesso, to tone down the colors and then a layer of Clear Gesso. I think Clear Gesso has a nicer finish. When the gesso was dry, I started applying color. I started with Liquid Acrylic Deep Turquoise and mixed Infusions In The Navy through it. In the other corner I used Liquid Acrylic Carmine, this is a very orange red, and mixed it with Infusions Frankly Scarlet and Nuvo Shimmer Poweder Catherine Wheel.
For the Paper Doll I used the VersaMarker together with Distress Embossing Glaze Fired Brick and Weathered Wood.
