It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Take Me For A Ride".
For this challenge I was inspired by a hot air balloon ride, and I started with a collage of Botanical Collage Paper, old book paper, tissue paper and washi tape. I glued all this down with Soft Matte Gel, which is really incredible for collaging. When the gel was dry I first applied a layer of White Gesso and then a layer of Clear Gesso. The Clear Gesso isn't necessary, but I think that Clear Gesso gives a nicer finish than White Gesso.
After the Gesso was dry, I applied texture with Texture Paste and the Rays stencil. While that was drying I started with the hot air balloon. I stamped this on a transparency sheet with StazOn Ink Jet Black. I colored the balloon on the back with Liquid Acrylics. This paint is translucent, so perfect for on a transparency sheet.
Then I went back to the background and also used the same colors of Liquid Acrylics for the sky, together with Nuvo Shimmer Powder Solar Flare and Infusions Lemoncello. I don't know what it is with Lemoncello, but there seems to be too much stain in it that it makes it really brown. For the bottom, I used Liquid Acrylic Avocado Green and Nuvo Shimmer Powder Green Parade.
